Since the launch of my second book, Time for School, I’ve been spending a bit of time with my headphones on and microphone turned up to record on some brilliant podcasts.
I don’t know about you but I only started listening to podcasts about a year or so ago, and now have many firm favourites which often keep me company as I fold washing or potter about in the garden or try to drown out the sounds of my children arguing over THAT toy AGAIN! It has quickly become one of my favourite ways to escape or make a boring job seem more enjoyable.
But not only that, I’ve always been a big chatter box (just ask my school teachers!) so getting to join in with a few of my favourite podcasts as a guest has really been a lot of fun. I’ve been asked everything from “what is my best mum hack?” to “Was he really called Mr Lovelady?!” and had a lot of laughs and shared some tips and tricks along the way.
So if you want to listen along here are some links to the chats I have had recently…
The Parent Hood (a chat with Marina Fogle)
Not Another Mummy Blog (chat with Alison Perry)
And then just in case you’re interested here are some of my favourite podcasts to listen to!
Lockdown Parenting Hell (with Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe)
Ellie and Anna have Issues (with Ellie Taylor and Anna Whitehouse two of my faves on Instagram!)
And top tip, I highly recommend making yourself a cuppa to go in a travel mug, and leaving for school pick up a bit early and taking a longer walk to listen to something funny as you slurp your brew. It makes that bit of my day full of joy (even if it does mean I have to make the kids run home because mummy always needs the loo!!!) Happy Listening!
